This amendment is intended to prohibit soldiers from lodging on any property where the owner does not consent to the stay.
I chose this cartoon because it sarcastically points out that the police say they are not soldiers, which is why they may require clearing any property.
This photo shows some soldiers sleeping in a bed that apparently is not theirs. The third amendment states that no militia can apply for asylum at the home of citizens who do not accept the request.
